School is over!

My final assignment:

Near the beginning of time, the witch Dubheasa took the sun god Alauniu hostage by poisoning the sunset with the juice of a nightshade plant. Her magic was diminished by the heat of the sun, and so with Alauniu's chariot grounded, perpetual twilight cloaked the world, and her powers grew. A young warrior named Aithne had heard the prophecy that Dubheasa could only be defeated at the hand of Balor, the king of the giants. The witch thought that she was perfectly safe, as the giants disliked the light of day as much as she did. Aithne went to the mountains where Balor and his kin lived, and tricked the prideful giant into lifting a mountain above his head. With a sharp swing of her axe, the girl chopped Balor's left hand off just below the wrist. The foolish giant was unable to safely set down the mountain with one hand, and as he called for help, Aithne took his hand and ran. She next bound the fingers into a fist with a short length of rope. Now prepared to do battle with the witch, she traveled to the black cliffs where Dubheasa had taken Alauniu...

Latest assignment!

The assignment was to take a picture of a person and "cartoonify" them. Here's what I came up with:

Demo Reel Stuff!

So, here's my latest demo reel. The one on Vimeo has some sound issues, I think it must be some stupid compression problem, but I have the animation with lip syncing on YouTube as well, and it's fine there!

Caricature assignment!

 I did the same assignment for Sarah Michelle Gellar, but it did not turn out good at all. Have to redo it.

Perspective assignments!

The mine shaft building is much better. The jackhammer skid steer needs some work to be correct.

"Not your typical dragon"

So the next assignment was to redo the old design, using some element(s) of the old one, but with the new theme "not your typical dragon."

New viking parasite!

So the current assignment in drawing for animation is to add value to the viking parasite assignment. I decided to redesign him as well!

So I somehow got my hands on a couple of Lego sets and built this!

Assignment: Imitate the style of Charley Harper.

Topic: Prehistoric life. (We were told specifically that "dinosaurs are not the only type of prehistoric life!" So I did a dinosaur.)

 The two latest assignments, above is the most recent one, which is to design something for the theme "Viking Parasites." Below is the texture swatch assignment. Reading is as if it were a book we have -- Rotten wood, baked earth, soft fur, small bubbles, skin cells, rusty hinge, gnarly window frame, carpet, and scrub brush.

Rodent Herdsman of the Burning Desert

I hate to have the first post of the new year be something I am so un-pleased with, but what can I do? This was for Drawing for Animation, the topic was "Rodent Herdsman of the Burning Desert." He's got an extra arm because the desert is burning not because it is hot, but because it is RADIOACTIVE!
